Robert Williams Art Show, February 20 2010

Robert Smith Meets Robert Williams.

After the signing at the bookshop we ate and then drove across town to an art show featuring work by famed underground cartoonist-turned painter/sculptor/philosopher Robert Williams. The first thing we saw as we approached the hall that held the art were a series of kick-ass hot rods. These cars have always been an integral part of Williams' mystique and he had arranged for these cool cars to be on display as one walked to the hall.

The artist hisownself! Just as I got ready to take his photo he turned and walked away! No!

I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night, (but wait!)
What do I see?
Is she walking back to me?Yeah, she's walking back to me!
Oh, oh, Pretty woman!

My suspicion is that this is Robert Williams' personal hot rod. Not sure, but I'd bet.

Then it was inside the hall to view the mind-bending work of Robert Williams!

Whoa! Dinosaur artist supreme William Stout was in attendance! Very cool!!

This one was probably my favorite painting in the joint.

And sculptures!
