Day Trip to Poinsett Bridge and Beyond

We took a day trip to upstate South Carolina so that Carole could hit a shop she likes. Then we visited a state park and an historic bridge in the SC high country. Details tomorrow.

This, the Poinsett Bridge was built in 1802. The fact that it still exists in the USA--which is notorious for destroying its historical architecture--amazes me.

The workmanship is phenomenal. No telling how long this arch will last if it remains undisturbed and protected from vandalism.
