I have to work to finish a short story for an anthology. So too busy to work on the blog today. But here are a couple of videos I shot in Linville Gorge on Sunday:
This is along the Rock Jock Trail. It was windy and cold and a bit overcast at this point. Later it got pretty darned warm. Too warm for the thermal underwear I had on.
This was at Lost Dog Pond. Naturally occurring ponds and lakes are exceedingly rare in the southern Appalachian mountains. In fact, there are only a few of them known--about half a dozen or so. This one barely meets the definition of a pond, but there it is. Linville Gorge has two of the natural ponds of which I know. One on the western rim and one on the eastern rim.
