Jacksonville, Florida

First signing went off well tonight! Sold a fair number of copies and met a lot of nice readers! The store here in Jacksonville was HUGE! The largest Barnes & Noble I've visited, and they told me it's not even the largest one in town. The one I'll be at tomorrow (Colonial Barnes & Noble) is the regional flagship store. I suspect it's even larger.

Authors Copies

My author's copies of the Tor Books version of THE FLOCK came to the house yesterday. I'll post obligatory author/book photos here when I have the time and can relax.

The book officially hits the stores on November 9. We head off for the first book tour on November 10. We were supposed to have had a signing in Savannah Georgia at a Books-A-Million, but it fell through. So the first store appearance will be in Jacksonville Florida on Friday, November 12 at Barnes & Noble # 2683, 11112 San Jose Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32223. Then, on Saturday, November 13 we'll be at Barnes & Noble # 2704, 2418 East Colonial Drive Orlando, FL 32803.

If any of you guys are in either of those areas I'd be thrilled to meet you and autograph your copy of THE FLOCK.

Some other publishing news looming. I'll post details as soon as I have them in hand.

Signing Events

Well, I need to get back to work on promoting my fiction:

I'm now working with Tor Books to set up some signing events.

Just now I have tentative plans to do a very brief book signing tour from November 11 through November 13. On the eleventh of November, the day after THE FLOCK hits the shops, I'll probably do at least one signing in Savannah GA. The day after that I'll be in Jacksonville FL to do a store appearance. Then, on Saturday I'll do one, perhaps two bookstore appearances in Orlando FL.

I thought that it would be appropriate to do signings in Florida, since that's where the novel is set. And, specifically, part of the book is set in Orlando and much of the action takes place in a mythological setting just north and west of Orlando.

As soon as I can I'll have the signing dates and locations posted here and at my official website.

In February when we flew to Los Angeles for the signing of THE BLEEDING EDGE. Here's humble me with writers Cody Goodfellow, John Tomerlin, Lisa Morton, Ray Bradbury, Norman Corwyn, Earl Hamner, Jr., George Clayton Johnson, John Shirley.
