Bernie

Carole and I watched the recent Jack Black film, BERNIE tonight.

We both enjoyed the film and I recommend it.

We watched Bernie about 4 days ago.

It was good movie but the overuse of the documentary style is getting annoying.

I'm looking forward to watching another new movie based on a true story--Compliance.

It's about a guy who played a practical joke on this good looking woman. She worked at some local fast food joint. He called the store manager and impersonated a police officer and told the manager to detain the woman because she was suspected of stealing from the cash register.

Incredibly, the store manager complied, got her boyfriend to help forcibly detain the poor woman, and they followed instructions and strip-searched her.

Some people are amazingly gullible.

The thing I liked most about BERNIE was that it gave Jack Black a chance to show how multi-talented he is. The film is flawed in many ways, but Black makes you forget about the movie's smaller problems.

Amy and watched that about two weeks ago. I wouldn't say it was a great film, but definitely worth watching. I didn't even realize it was based on a true story until after we watched it.

I agree. Not a great movie, but lots of fun. We enjoyed seeing Jack Black perform and be a ham without really being a ham.
