In late April we visited the Gulf coast along the panhandle of Florida. We hit a number of the beautiful white sand beaches there. We saw tons of wildlife. The water was clear and beautiful.
No more.
So I thought I'd post a link to an online album of photographs that I took while we were there. It may very well have been the last chance to have seen the Gulf with its ecosystem more or less intact.
I've read that this beach, which we enjoyed so much a bit more than a month ago, is now fouled with oil. That sugar-white sand is gummed with toxic muck.
Seriously. Someone kill these motherfuckers. And the members of the board of directors. Just fucking kill them all. Down to the last fucking man.
Then take their property. Sell it. Use it. Burn it. Whatever. Just don't allow their surviving family members to enjoy the fruits of their crimes.
I'm serious.
Please.
Someone kill those motherfuckers.
Yeah. This would clean out the nest of boardroom vipers quite effectively.
Those polluting bastards all need to be killed. Dead. Shoot them in the fucking head. Blast their filthy goddamned guts out. Spill their fucking blood.
The simple fact of the matter is that corporations rule this nation, and the world. Their wealth makes them immune to laws and pits them against the welfare of not only the majority of the people, but with that of the planet. The things they do are at odds with human health and of the very earth, air, and water.
Well, I took the cover off of the Casita trailer on Sunday. This is the longest we've ever gone without taking her on the road. And I'm still not sure when we'll be taking a road trip with the travel trailer. Our Spring vacation was to a condo. Our summer vacation will be in lodges and cabins in Yellowstone and Grand Tetons. Unless we can squeeze a road trip in there somewhere, it may be until late Fall before we go camping with the trailer. It's all very sad.
Still and all, I felt that I should uncover the Casita and give her a bath and seeabout getting the tire ready to change. Soon after our last road trip the right tire went flat. We'd been planning on buying two new tires anyway. She still has the factory set on her, so it's past time to get some new wheels.
So after I jacked the travel trailer up I purged the antifreeze from the plumbing and ran fresh water throughout the system. Then I put a stand underneath, gave her a good bath and then waxed the front and one side. I still need to put another coat of wax on the front and also wax the other side. But for a Sunday I did a good bit in getting her ready for the day when we'll head out to a National Forest or National Park campground.
