I just bought a long heavy African spear with a really sharp steel blade. I was practicing throwing it at a target the other day. I missed and it went right through a metal stand that was holding the target up. I did hit the bullseye on 3 of my first 15 throws, but it's better as a thrusting weapon.
I bet I could kill that bird with just my Shaka Zulu spear.

Possibly. African warriors did kill full-grown lions with them.
